Hyperpigmentation

What is Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is a common condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. This condition can be caused by everything from acne scars and sun damage to hormone fluctuations. Hyperpigmentation isn’t generally harmful and usually isn’t a sign of a serious medical condition. In some cases, dark areas will fade on their own with good sun protection. In other cases, a stronger treatment is needed.

How does Skin Pigmentation Lightening work?

At Green Leaf Medi Spa we offer a safe, gentle, and clean Skin Pigmentation Lightening treatment to help with removing Hyperpigmentation and brightening patches of the skin in the intimate areas that get affected by overproduction of melanin. We do not use depigmentation agents like Hydroquinone or Kojic Acid due to higher sensitivity which may cause mild skin irritation and sensitization like burning and stinging, Dermatitis, dryness, redness and inflammatory reaction. The principal ingredients in our Skin Pigmentation Lightening treatment are Licorice extract, bearberry, green tea, citrus lemon and aloe Vera. The products are produced in the USA with the highest degree of quality and safety and are approved by Health Canada.

How is Skin Pigmentation Lightening performed?

When you arrive for your appointment, the area will be prepped and cleansed. Once dried, a trained medical aesthetician will apply an exfoliating cream to instantly penetrate the top layers of the skin and open the pores. The all natural fast-absorbing gel with Green Tea ingredients quickly gets absorbed to help block the formation of excess melanin in new skin cells. The additional use of red and blue LED light opens the pores and helps the penetration of the product. The whole procedure is gentle and pain-free. Hyperpigmentation Treatment is safe for all skin types.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of sessions needed will depend on your skin tone. You should expect to have several treatments per year for best results. Results may vary from one person to another.

What happens after my appointment?

You will be instructed to not rinse the area for at least 6 hours. To expedite your results, you may want to purchase an at-home gel to use daily until your next in-clinic Hyperpigmentation Treatment session. Your aesthetician will instruct you on how to use products at home.

Is it safe to do Hyperpigmentation Treatment around the intimate areas like vulva and anus?

Skin Lightening in intimate areas is one of the hottest skin care trends today (like ‘Anal Bleaching’). ‘Anal Bleaching’ is the process of lightening the color of the skin around the anus. It is done for cosmetic purposes, to make the color of the anus more uniform with the surrounding area. Many products used for this purpose contain harsh chemicals such as Hydroquinone, Kojic Acid or even Mercury that can burn, irritate, or have ingredients that can leave you sticky or messy. Our treatment does not contain bleaching agents and is an original product that has been specifically formulated and tested for use on the sensitive genital areas.

After getting Skin Pigmentation Lightening done, will the discoloration come back?

The discoloration may come back when there is a hormonal imbalance or hormonal changes. However, many of our clients experience long-lasting results after the Skin Pigmentation Lightening when they use Skin Lightening Solution at home, combined with using sunscreen in areas easily exposed to the Sun.

At Green Leaf we are proud to be the first Medi Spa in Vancouver to offer this natural, effective treatment without using harsh chemicals. To perform Skin Pigmentation Lightening we use a high-quality product produced in the USA with the highest degree of quality and safety that is approved by Health Canada.
