RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency Energy Microneedling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional Microneedling procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles, combined with the micro-injury provided by the microneedles, delivering RF energy deep into the dermis, further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction. The RF energy heats the underlying layers, resulting in constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Due to RF energy being delivered so deeply, it can produce quicker, more effective results.

Who is RF Microneedling for?

RF Microneedling is suitable for nearly any skin type and tone, including darker skin types, and targets the following issues:

• Fine lines and facial wrinkles
• Scarring from acne and chicken pox
• Mild to moderate skin laxity
• Irregular skin texture and tone

Achieving full results could generally take 2 to 3 treatments that are about 45 minutes long, spaced about four weeks apart, depending on how well the patient responds to the procedure. Determining the number of treatments will depend on the severity of the skin issues to be addressed.

RF Microneedling vs. Traditional Microneedling

Microneedling is a “procedure using an electric impulse pen holding several single-use microneedles of various diameters” where products are not necessarily injected. The device pinpricks cause slight injury to the skin and the skin responds by making new collagen-rich tissue. This new skin tissue is, in turn, more even in tone and texture.

After RF Microneedling Procedure

Skin typically stays red only for the first day or two post treatment, but the redness is generally mild, unlike with laser procedures. There is little to no discomfort post treatment where you are able to return to regular activities within a day. Makeup can be applied 24 hours after the procedure.
